Types of Braces

Types of Braces

Traditional Metal

Traditional metal braces are still the most common type of braces. These high-grade stainless steel metal brackets and archwires are used to correct misaligned bites and straighten teeth. With these type of braces, our patients have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) to customize their smile at each adjustment appointment.

Ceramic (Clear) Braces

Ceramic braces are made of clear porcelain material, which allow them to blend in with the color of your natural teeth. They work the same as traditional braces, without the visibility, which is why many older teenager and adult patients choose this more aesthetically pleasing option.

Aligners

Aligners are a series of clear, removable trays made of comfortable acrylic material to straighten your teeth. Because they are removable, patients can enjoy eating and drinking without the fear of stains or trapped food with the appliance while in treatment. There are no wires, so brushing and flossing are made easier for the patient. Our office uses Clear Correct™ Aligners, which are made right here in the USA.

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are a personalized orthodontic solution and a great alternative to traditional metal braces. Incognito™ lingual braces sit behind the teeth and out of view of your smile. These lingual braces are entirely customized to the patient, so it matches the individual’s unique shape for optimal orthodontic treatment. This can translate into fewer periodic adjustments and potentially less overall time wearing braces. Many of our adult patients choose this option, which allows for a more discrete progression while in treatment.
